Dr. Hollander is a recent graduate of the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic with honors.  He is certified in Graston technique for soft tissue mobilization.  Dr. Hollander has a particular interest in rehabilitation and believes strongly in a patient's active role in attaining a better level of health.  "It's all about education and how a patient's eyes light up when they get it."

After studying the japanese martial art of aikido for 4 years, he felt a calling to chiropractic.  "I began to see how the spine affects the function and feeling of the body," "I simply had to learn more about it."  As Dr. Hollander persued his degree at UBCC, he also explored the concept of "living the health-oriented chiropractic lifestyle."  Now he enjoys running, cycling, kickboxing, and has studied several martial arts.  He continues to study Aikido and Kuntao Jiu Jitsu.  He has acheived the level of green belt in Kuntao Jiu Jitsu and continues to teach the Kuntao Jiu Jitsu club at the University of Bridgeport.

Nutritionist Mike Grosso has a healthy regard for food and its life-sustaining properties. He is primarily concerned with the prevention and treatment of illnesses through proper dietary care. At Health First Chiropractic and Rehabilitation in Fairfield county, he evaluates the diets of patients and clients suffering from medical disorders. He suggests ways of fighting various health problems by modifying the patient’s intake of certain food items and prescribing whole food and herbal concentrates.

Mike sees amazing results in his patients in Fairfield county that have suffered ailments ranging from cancer to bone density. He also structures and recommends diet plans for whole families, often including guides to the correct preparation of meals and shopping for the right foods. As Mike puts it, “It’s basically all about balance—the older you get, the more you begin to understand the importance of balance in your life, and your diet is no exception.” Some of the common health problems that he works to alleviate are hypertension, diabetes, and obesity.

Mike has been a nutritionist for 30 years, and has also owned 2 Fitness Centers and a Health Food Store. Through private practice, he  now helps people with all types of heallth conditions by  using specific dietary  recommendations and nutritional protocols. Each person is treated on a strict individual basis, and each program of diet or supplements  is specifically formulated based on the client's individual condition or concerts. He uses only professional lines of whole food supplements that balance and support the body, as opposed to using most products which can cause imbalances in the body. Mike studied Nutrition at Central University and Clayton School of Natural Healing. He completed hundreds of hours of seminar work and research also and worked for Standard Process as a consultant. He also specializes in anti- aging programs to help people look and feel younger.

Dr. Chow received his Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College and is now practicing medicine in Connecticut. Dr. Chow was born and raised in Hong Kong. He came to the United States and attended high school in White Plains, New York. He then attended SUNY-Binghamton (now Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York) and received his Bachelor of Science (with honors) in Biology. He entered New York Medical College with an academic scholarship and obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1994.

His post graduation training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center (New Hyde Park, New York) included an internship and residency program in Internal Medicine and Primary Care, and a two-year fellowship program in Nephrology. Dr. Chow received several research grants during his training and had published research articles in a number of peer reviewed journals, including Kidney International; The International Journal of Artificial Organs; Free Radical Biology & Medicine. He is also co-author of a book chapter in Methods in Molecular Biology. Oxidants and Antioxidants. Ultrastructure and Molecular Biology Protocols (Humana Press, 2002).

Having completed his training in 2000, Dr. Chow joined a North Carolina private practice as a Nephrologist–a medical specialist in kidney diseases and dialysis. He returned to the Northeast three years later and has been working as a Hospitalist (medical doctor specialized in hospital based medicine) in Connecticut. Dr. Chow is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Chow was introduced to medical acupuncture in 2003 through his colleague in North Carolina. His interest in this subject grew as he researched and learned about this topic. In 2007, Dr. Chow studied medical acupuncture with Joseph M. Helms, M.D.–an internationally renowned expert who is widely regarded as the Father of Medical Acupuncture in the United States. Through the Stanford School of Medicine / Helms Medical Institute Medical Acupuncture for Physicians program, Dr. Chow completed the requirements set by the State of Connecticut for Physician Certification in the practice of acupuncture. He is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the largest medical-specialty organization in the United States, and the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, the largest physician only acupuncture organization in the United States.
